Becky’s Success Story

Five more days to get your entry in for our “Tale of Two T-Shirts” contest, so don’t delay! Becky is one of our most faithful and hard working clients, and she is always pushing me to get better!

Love it Becky!

“Hey Dean & Nancy,

So here is my story about Get Fit NH.

As you know I lost 40lbs prior to joining Get Fit NH. When I initially joined Get Fit NH, I was looking for something to help me keep off the weight that I had already lost.

The top 3 pictures show how I have lost an inch or two since I joined in 2010, both in my work out clothing and swimsuit bottoms.  However, I have seen more significant changes in the muscle definition that I have gained since joining.

The first picture on the bottom where I am in the green tank top was taken in 2008. The picture next to it was taken this past Thursday.

In the last few months I have had a lot of people complement me on the definition in my arms.  I never really gave any thought to it until I was looking at some old pictures.

Get Fit NH and the 620am Concord class is the best thing that I could have done. I have never been in better health then I am today.

Thank you for all that you do!” – Becky

Just received this note from Kim over at the Concord Public Safety Foundation – great job guys!

Thanks to our generous sponsors, teams, and volunteers, we did it! The Concord Public Safety Foundation’s Inaugural Fire Truck Pull raised enough money to get a 3rd LUCAS hand free CPR device for the Concord Fire Department. Now it’s time to celebrate!

Join us at noon on Monday, August 6th as we present a check, express our gratitude, and enjoy each other’s company over a BBQ lunch.

Please RSVP (right here on the event page works), and if possible, bring a food item to share (we’ll make sure there are plenty of grill items (for meat eaters + vegetarians alike) + drinks).

Swathi Shares Her Success Story

Swathi has been with us over the past 3 months, and unfortunately for us her job is moving her up into the great white north of Canada. We are sad to see her go, but happy we get to share her success story. Keep up the great work Swathi, and best wishes on the new position.

“Hi Dean,

I was not able to make it yesterday and today due to the packing and all other stuff going on.

I wanted to THANK YOU for the huge transition GET FIT NH brought in me.

I had severe back pain after my baby was born, but after I joined GET FIT NH I never had the pain.

Also, your emails helped me in changing the way I eat, which made a huge difference. I lost 10 lbs after I joined GET FIT NH.

I hate to leave GET FIT NH, but unfortunately I have no other option.

Please convey my THANKS to Erin, CJ and Nancy.

GET FIT NH ROCKS.

Thanks,

Swathi”

Well done Ladies – I think Coach was pretty surprised!

And well done Coach Erin for the impact you make on so many lives every day. Best wishes to you and Michael as you prepare for your wedding, and may you have many happy years together.

I think the headband should be mandatory from now on!

Lori Gets In On The Action

How’s this for the incredible shrinking woman? Lori sends us her contest entry.

Sassy attitude?

You Lori?

Keep up the great work, eh! 🙂

“I started with GetFitNH 10 months ago and I have gone from size XL to M!! Along with alot less fabric,  I have shed 37.5 lbs. Even my socks have taken in a sassier attitude!!

Gretchen Pipes Up With Her Entry

Here is Gretchen’s entry, told and sold only as Gretchen could! 🙂

Love you too Gretch!

It’s not to late to get your contest entry in.

Make It Happen!

“GetFitNH Booty: I’m going on 4 years! 4 Shirts!

Heres my story:

Blue XXL = FAT Girl hiding from Life!
Red XL = BIG Girl with a little muscle thrown in and a little Happier.
Peach XL = BIG girl with a lot more muscle and confidence to wear a little more form fitting clothes.
Black L = BULKY & BRAUNY girl form fitting, w/no sleeves, you can see MUSCLE now!

So when people ask me how long I’ve been going to Bootcamp and I say 4 years, I wonder if they are secretly sneering ‘and you look like that?’ (sorry the FAT girl still shows her ugly face now and then) I think, I should look like Nancy by now… if only she would make my meals and put the foods i’m suposed to eat in front of me… oh AND be my bouncer when confronted with NO foods 😉 But I OWN IT, therefore, I AM a WORK IN PROGRESS!! I’m Happy with my BODACIOUS Bulk and Braun!

I’ve come a long way baby… which is why I added a 5th GOAL shirt = FUSCIA size unknown at this time, but cover up is not optional = BODACIOUS BEAUTY with a Whole Lot o’ MUSCLE and I’ll be taking names and kicking butt! <3

HAVE GOALS AND MAKE IT HAPPEN!!

XOXO! Love you Dean & Nancy… and all my PEOPS AT BOOTY!” ~gretch

An Olympic Event – The Marathon Erg

The opening ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Games are tomorrow, and we don’t want these two weeks to pass us by without getting in on the action.

On Saturday August 11th at 7:30am we will be gathering at Get Fit NH Concord to stage an event so spectacular it will go down in legend.

We are looking to put together teams of 4 to do the grand daddy of all Ski Erg events – The Marathon Erg!

You read correctly – 42195 meters of pure pleasure – do you have the guts to get in on the action?

Here’s the plan:

Each athlete on the teams will row 2000 meters then pass off the baton to the next team member. Each team member will row 5 heats of 2000 and 1 heat of ~ 550.

Are You In?

Sign up on the board in your gym, and let’s Make It Happen!

Training Package Updates

Wanted to give you an update on some recent changes to our pricing structure and packages.

Over the past 4 1/2 years we have kept our pricing structure the same and to this point have never raised rates. Our best priced training packages have always been based on a 3 month commitment. On July 1st we changed our pricing structure, however some of our print material did not get changed out, so I wanted to clear up any confusion.

The new packages reflect a 3 month, 6 month, and 12 month training commitment with tiered pricing. You can see the new pricing structure and packages here: http://www.getfitnhbootcamp.com/program-information/membership-packages/

Why the change?

We have found over the last 4 1/2 years that our clients that are truly committed to gaining long term results are our most successful clients. We are a long term development training program, not just a “workout”. Our training programs are carefully designed and evolve as the science and real world results dictate. Our training looks far different than it did even 2 or 3 years ago for that very reason. We have been committed to invest in infrastructure and education to make sure you are getting the best training available, bar none.

That commitment works best if it works both ways. Frankly we are looking for clients who have the long term in view, not just “Let’s try something different for a couple months.” Sometimes it takes 3 months just to get a client moving well enough to train hard, and we want to encourage that kind of long term thinking.

You might be wondering why we shorter term packages at all. It is a concession to the fact that not everyone is able to commit to longer terms or may not want to up front. It is our goal to have everyone see the long term value, and you will always have the option to upgrade to a longer term at any time.

What about existing clients?

For now nothing changes at all. You will remain at your current pricing and structure. In the future when we do roll this new structure out to all our clients you will have the chance to lock into the best price at that time.

If you have any questions, please give us a call or send and email.

Thank-You for choosing to train with us!

17 Things I Learned

Nancy and I had a great trip to Kentucky, travel craziness notwithstanding.

Spending a few hours each way in a plane gives my some time to catch up on some reading, and I finished a book called “Leadership and Self-Deception” which was published by the Arbinger Institute.  Very interesting read, and one that really gets you thinking. Put it on your list.

After reading the book and attending the conference I wanted to download a bit so I did a “brain dump” and wrote down what I learned or was reminded of, and I thought I’d share.

1. There is always someone out there better than you – learn from them.
2. Hard work trumps natural talent. Put the two together and change your world.
3. Be yourself, people see right through you anyway.
4. Make small improvements every day.
5. The playing field is more level than you think it is, and even it is not, put the effort into overcoming,  not complaining.
6. Luck usually involves an incredible amount of hard work.
7. Getting better always includes admitting you don’t know something.
8. The problem always involves me, not with the circumstances or people surrounding me.
9. People don’t always do their best, don’t let it affect you from doing yours.
10. The most important thing in life will never be how much money you do or do not have.
11. Who you are is greatly affected by those you are friends with and associate with. Want to be a better coach? Hang out with great coaches. Want to get stronger? Hang out with strong people. Want to be leaner? Hang out with lean people. Want to be cooler? Hang out with me (or get an air conditioner).
12. Counting your blessings is always more fun than recounting your problems.
13. Evaluate what you really want, because it is always going to take more effort than you think.
14. Although it is human nature to blame others, I alone am responsible for outcomes.
15. Putting others first is never a losing game.
16. Good enough never is.
17. Life is hard. Live it to the fullest anyway.
